Across fields, landscapes, and institutions, vast amounts of valuable data already exist. From how land is managed to how nature and climate are affected, this data holds the knowledge needed to support the green transition. Yet much of it remains scattered across systems, organizations, and formats — making it difficult to access, connect, and use.
GATE brings these pieces together. By connecting agricultural and environmental data across institutions, GATE strengthens farmers, researchers, policy makers and advisors with better knowledge, insights, and decision support. The infrastructure is built on a federated model: data remains with its original owners. GATE does not take ownership of data. Instead, it makes trusted discovery, access, and collaboration possible across sectors.
GATE is led by the Danish Technological Institute in partnership with Land-CRAFT and the Danish Agricultural Agency working together to build the data foundation needed to support the green transition.
GATE is funded by The Novo Nordic Foundation.

The Danish Technological Institute is an independent and non-profit research and development institute. In GATE, the Institute contributes expertise within, among other things, agricultural development, experimental design, data analysis, digital solutions, and the implementation of new technology in agriculture.

Land-CRAFT is the Pioneer Centre for Landscape Research in Sustainable Agricultural Futures – an inter-institutional research centre focusing on the green transition of agriculture through, among other things, landscape-scale field experiments, modelling, and digital landscape analyses.

Danish Agency for Green Transition and Aquatic Environment (SGAV)
SGAV is an agency under the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities and is responsible for implementing the Green Tripartite Agreement in the areas of land use and aquatic environment, including the coordination of research and development programmes.
